Our lives need rythm. We must know when to be "on" and when to be "off." In this sermon Pastor Christian preaches about the importance of observing the Sabbath Day as well as the practice of Daily Diversion. These latter practices are powerful declarations about God, ourselves, our relationships, our beliefs, and our values. The Sabbath and daily diversion are the resetting of our entire lives toward a new destination--God. It is an entirely new way of being in the world.

I was actually looking forward to hearing the message entitled "Sabbath," however, hearing you discuss how Sunday or any day one chooses to "rest and enjoy ourselves" can be a Sabbath it is disappointing as it is an extremely unbiblical claim. This is irrefutable proof given by the historian Josephus and the Sages that the 7th day is known to be today's Friday night into Saturday (I would suggest researching this just so that you have a reference). Sunday was declared the Lord's sabbath, not by the Lord, but by "Constantine the Great and Pope Sylvester." No where in the scriptures does it state that the Sabbath (the first thing that the Lord declares Holy in scripture) was changed to Sunday (though many will try to use the verse in Acts where the apostles "meet or congregate" on the first day -which in Hebrew-Motza'ei-Shabbat-translates into the completion of the Sabbath day and the commencement of the first day, which begins on Saturday night into Sunday). In Portuguese, the Sabbath day is specifically translated into Sabado. The reason why I bring this up is because for the Lord, this specific commandment is very very very important. He discusses that in Isaiah 56: 6-7 that "foreigners (Gentiles) who join themselves to Adonai to serve him, to love the name of the Lord, and to be his workers, all who keep Shabbat and do not profane it (key words) and hold fast to the covenant I will bring them to my holy mountain and make them joyful in my house of prayer (discussing the establishment of the New Jerusalem which every week on Shabbat everyone living will come to worship in his presence and those who rebelled against him will be abhorrent to all humanity-Isa 66:23-24.) Since obedience to the Word of the Lord is important, I just wanted to share this with you in love. Let me know what you think as there are so many other scriptures that speak of the Sabbath as I am sure you know. In Yeshua's (Jesus') service.
