Library Funk

Welcome to another episode of Sounding Out The City...

After a rather long hiatus, I've posted a nice little library mix for you all to check out.

For those unfamiliar with library music, it is a funky, groovy, cinematic style of music produced by session musicians during the 60s and 70s and was made to be used in film, TV and radio. Those production studios kept a 'library' of this type of music which was then used for chase scenes, action sequences, tense dramatic clips, etc.

The tracks I've selected are quite rare, very much in demand by crate diggers and very expensive on vinyl, but more importantly, they are plain wicked!

Many have been sampled in oldskool and current hiphop, house, and electronica for their beats and hard jazz.

If you enjoyed the music from the film Ocean's 11, and 12 etc., you'll dig this.

Cheers.
