Part 1 - "Adoption in a Broken World" - Romans 8:12-15
These next two weeks we are going to look at the topic of adoption as it occurs in Scripture. Adoption, what does this have to do with God and the Bible? Great question! It is amazing if you sit back and think about it for a couple of moments.
Moses was adopted by Pharaoh's daughter and raised by her until manhood, only later in life being reconnected with his brother and sister. Jesus was also raised by an adopted father. Furthermore, in the New Testament, the author Paul, wrote that we are members of God's family, literally that we are adopted into his family as sons and daughters. We will take the next couple of weeks to look into these passages and see how we can understand our relationship with the Lord in light of his adoption of us into his family.
