Here is a guidance how to convert your files into mp3 (MPEG 1 Layer 3) constant bitrate 96Kbit/mono 44100Hz.
To convert the file you can use any audio redactor. We recommend you to use Audacity 1.3.3-beta. It is a free application compatible with Windows and Mac OS. If you are a Mac OS user please install Mac version of Audacity.
Below are the steps you should take to adjust settings for Audacity application in order to convert your audio to the required format:
- Importing file to Audacity program
Open the file you want to convert in Audacity. In the File menu select Open and specify your file path. As soon as your file is imported to Audacity you can adjust the settings for conversion.
- Choosing the appropriate sample rate
Check the sample rate of your track. You can find sample rate on the left side of Audacity application window (see the screenshot below).
If the sample rate of the track differs from 44100 Hz click on the Tracks item in the top menu and select Resample in the drop-down.

To change the sample rate type in 44100 in the form that will appear (see the screenshot below).

Note: Sometimes in spite of resampling the original sample rate remains. In this case set the project rate to 44100 Hz on the main Audacity window as well.
- Export in mp3 format
To export your file in the required format choose Export option in the File menu.

In the file export form select mp3 format (see the screenshot below).

Note:You should have Lame Library installed to perform the export. Click on the Edit top-menu item and select Preferences in the drop-down. Click on File formats item in the left-side menu and use option Download free copy of Lame. If you have Lame Library stored locally on your computer click on the Find library button and specify the file path.

- Adjusting the bit rate
In the file export form click on the Options button. On the form that will appear find Quality option and select 96 kbps in the drop-down. Specify Constant in the Bit Rate Mode as it is shown on the screenshot below.
